Are you a multi-unit leader that loves developing people and getting results? Being a District Manager at Extra Space Storage is an incredible opportunity. To be successful, you'll need to be a motivator and mentor, someone who can guide the store managers and develop their talent. You should have experience leading multiple stores, because you'll also be responsible for ensuring district wide customer satisfaction and measuring the financial performance of all the locations in your district. Number of stores is 8 16 and will vary based on geography and complexity of those stores. But most of all, you'll be inspiring a team of great people committed to creating a welcoming environment.

Responsibilities:
Willingness and ability to relocate anywhere within the division to an assigned district as determined by the Divisional Vice President
The division includes the following areas: Pomona, San Bernardino, Irvine, Temecula, Palm Desert, San Diego, Las Vegas
District Managers must be willing to live within 30 minutes of their assigned district. Relocation is provided.
This position is a part of a structured District Manager development program reserved for the strengthening of highly-qualified and high-potential candidates to prepare them to assume a leadership position within the company. It is a rigorous and accelerated program for external candidates who have demonstrated such talent in a current or past role and will build the skills, knowledge, and competencies of incumbent to qualify them for consideration for promotion to District Manager or other related positions within the organization. The incumbent will be located in a regional Division Office for mentoring and development with the Division Vice President and support staff. The assignments and projects are both structured and need based, and may include covering of District Manager's responsibilities in their absence. Incumbent will be exposed in detail, to operations and support departments, including specific project work in each area, and supervision of a micro-district. The incumbent will also be used to provide temporary leadership coverage of districts as needed.
90- Days as a Store Manager
Supervision of a team of employees
Participate in Divisional Leadership Meetings
Provides additional leadership to assigned district as required by Division Vice President
Completes all courses, assignments and projects as defined in learning plan experiences will assist in accelerating the personal and professional readiness

Responsibilities:
During the program, incumbent will have periods of time when they are assigned to supervise a team of Assistant Managers and Maintenance Workers at sites in following approved policies and procedures.

Education:
A four year college degree from an accredited university or college, or five years of multi-store managerial experience and one to three years of sales and/or retail experience are required.
Language Skills:
Incumbent must have ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents. Must have strong verbal and written skills. Must demonstrate an ability to build strong relationships with individuals and have strong multi-tasking skills. Strong oral communication skills and ability to effectively write and communicate in English required. Ability to read and interpret reports, legal documents, and procedural manuals in English is required.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals is expected.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram format and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Must be able to identify problems and create solutions to rectify the situation.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
