6 San Bernardino, CA San Bernardino, CA Full-time Contract Full-time Contract $35 - $45 an hour $35 - $45 an hour Covelo Group is seeking a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our Educational Services team! This position is with a school district just outside of San Bernardino.
As a school SLPA, you will work under the direction of a speech language pathologist to offer speech services to students who require intervention by providing prescribed therapies according to the parameters outlined in students' individual education plans (IEP).
Your primary goal is to help students overcome speech limitations to succeed in the classroom and develop essential communication skills.
Your students will vary in age from grades K-12.
With this SLPA position, you can expect:

As a school Speech Language Pathology Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
Assisting with speech evaluations, documenting student interventions and progress, and relaying observations to a supervising SLP.
Guiding therapies that may include exercises to improve the development of oral motor skills, speech fluency, articulation, cognition, listening comprehension, and oral reading skills.
Traveling to multiple school sites within the district (14 schools total).
Qualifications for this SLPA role include:
Graduation from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program approved by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
Prior SLPA experience working in a school setting is preferred but not required.
Speech-Language Pathology licensure in the state of California.
Current Speech-Language Pathology Assistants Certification (C-SLPA).
BLS certification.
