0 Full-time 1 day ago Full Job Description JOB FUTURE SALARY INCREASES3% Anticipated February 25, 2023 San Bernardino County has a current vacancy for a Communications Officer who is responsible for managing the development and coordination of internal and external communications, media/public relations, and marketing for the department.
Duties include preparing press releases, public service announcements, articles, bulletins, reports, brochures, assist with presentations and education outreach and other media for public dissemination for the department.
The Communications Officer oversees a wide variety of information and communication activities; serves as liaison between director, management and media representatives; and responds to media, public, and inter-agency inquiries.

Salary increases are contingent upon assessed values for previous fiscal year.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Travel:
Travel throughout the County may be required to perform duties off-site as needed.
Employees may be required to make provision for transportation and use personal vehicles (mileage reimbursement is available).
At the time of hire, a valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced and maintained for the individual providing the transportation.
Pre-Employment Process:
Applicants selected for this position must pass a background check and verification of employment history and education.
As well as a job-related physical exam, including a drug test, prior to employment.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, business/public administration, marketing, public relations, communications, public health, health promotion and education, health/natural sciences, or closely related field of study.

Experience:
Three (3) years of full-time experience in developing and administering a comprehensive public relations or communications program, which included the dissemination of information to internal and/or external audiences through various communications media.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The ideal candidate will have exceptional verbal, written, organizational, and public relations skills; demonstrate initiative; and have relevant experience within a public sector agency, preferably in a human services agency.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
